ILTER family successfully serves in operation in Karabakh

ILTER Drone Detection and Blocking Systems, developed by Bogazici Savunma with domestic and national resources, has successfully served in Azerbaijan's antiterrorist operation in Karabakh.

Bogazici Savunma, which set out in 2017 to contribute to Türkiye’s technological independence, offers solutions for both Turkish security forces and friendly and allied countries with the products it has developed, especially drone detection, tracking and blocking systems.

Bogazici Savunma has recently delivered ILTER J250 Drone Detection (developed by a localization ratio over 90 percent) and Blocking System and ILTER HP Mobile High Power GNSS Diversion and ISM Blocking System models to the Azerbaijani army.

According to Azerbaijani sources, the systems have successfully served in Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist operation in Karabakh. ILTER J250 and ILTER HP successfully detected and blocked different types of drones owned by various countries and operated by Armenian forces during the anti-terrorist operation. Thus, both the Armenian elements were deprived of reconnaissance-surveillance activities at the front and the vital safety of the Azerbaijani soldiers was ensured.

ILTER J250 Drone Detection and Blocking System, a new member of the ILTER family, performs fully automatic detection, interference and deception functions against mini/micro rotary-wing or fixed-wing drones with its RF sensors.

The system, which has an output power of more than 250 watts in total, has been developed for mobile and fixed settlements with its internal battery.

The system, which is capable of 360-degree detection and blocking against multiple drone attacks, can detect up to 8 kilometers and has a spoofing function in GNSS bands.

Because of spoofing function, the system emits fake GNSS signals to prevent autonomous flight threats, and can move the threat away from the protected area to the desired co-ordinates.

ILTER's working methodology is as follows:

Detection System

  • Detects rotary-winged and fixed-winged low-altitude UAVs.
  • Detects wireless communication of drone and remote control.
  • Detects frequency bands in the range of UHF, S and C.

Blocking System

  • Blocks the communication frequency bands of the remote control with the drone/UAV.
  • Blocks the frequency bands of global positioning systems GNSS (GPS(L1,L2,L5), GLONASS(G1,G2,G3), GALILEO(E1,E5a,E5b,E6), BEIDOU(B1,B2,B3)) to prevent autonomous flights.

Spoofing

  • It emits fake GNSS signals to prevent autonomous flight threats.
  • Removes the threat from the protected area to the desired co-ordinates.

ILTER HP Mobile High-Power GNSS Diversion and ISM Blocking System, on the other hand, is able to interfere/block target points from safe areas up to 80 kilometers because it has a a long impact range and it is mobile.

With the line-of-sight software that calculates the target points affected by the system, the antennas on the system are automatically directed to the target and the system performs functions of interference, neutralization and deception without loss.  The system, which is installed on a 4X4 box truck, can operate 24 hours a day without interruption.
